The St Vincent de Paul Welfare Agency has a key role in providing assistance to those in crisis. Open Mon-Fri from 10am-1pm.
St Vincent de Paul are a Catholic organisation that rely greatly on donations and volunteers to deliver its support services. The St. Vincent de Paul Welfare Agency provides enormous assistance as an Emergency Relief Centre in the centre of Mandurah, providing a number of services including:
- Free financial counselling service
- Food vouchers & parcels
- Fuel vouchers
- Supply emergency bedding, clothing and furniture
- School book assistance
- Homework assistance
- Christmas hampers
- Process utility grants for gas, water, electricity and phone
- Emergency housing
- Temporary rent assistance for those facing eviction
- Swags for the homeless
- Referrals for financial counselling, tenancy issues, legal problems and accommodation
- Advocacy for those in need
St. Vincent de Paul Welfare Agency works closely with other services in the region including Finucare and Foodbank. Although they receive many of their referrals from centrelink, you do not need a referral to visit the centre and seek assistance. The Welfare Agency is always looking for volunteers to help raise money through donations & ‘shaking tins’ in shopping centres if you'd like to lend a hand.
Financial Counselling Service
Through St Vincent de Paul, Des Townsend offers a free financial counselling service on weekdays 9am to 4pm. The service available to anyone who may be behind in payments or have money worries. Des can help to negotiate with creditors, assist with your tax or review your budget.
